Hype de-hyped

As expected, the logic board teardown and analysis drew the most attention, namely, because of all the dust being thrown about w/ regards to the fabled A4 CPU. Although the details aren’t 100% clear yet, the A4 seems to be nothing more than yet another run of the mill Samsung-built ARM CPU with RAM integrated in the same package (but two separate dies). Just like the iPhone’s CPU. Continue reading →

First iPad twitter application – Tweetings

Nop, sorry still no news about iPad version of Tweetie but we are sure they are cooking one right as we speak. Instead guys and girls at AppAdvice found an interesting info about what seems to be the first Twitter client for iPad. Tweetings for iPad has been approved by Apple and will be ready for launch day in the Appstore.

Features include everyhintg that any serous twitter addict demands – lists, multiple accounts, push notifications, geolocation, Twitpic, various URL shortners and much more. The price tag on Tweetings is 2.99$ but that is pretty cheap for a decent looking twitter client like this.

iPad to be sold in Best Buy from day one.

Take a look at the picture above, it has apparently leaked directly from Best Buy ( according to Engadget ) and even tough some reports say they are almost sold out you will probably have an opportunity to buy one in your local Best Buy store on the April 3 in more that 675 stores.

This is no surprise since Apple announced that iPad will be sold in Best Buy but no one expected that to begin on day one. If that reports are true this might mean that Apple decided to change the approach that they had with iPhone and all other “i” devices and are ready to adopt a new more consumer and open tactics.

Update:
TUAW is reporting more details on the Best Buy iPad “playbook” so head there if you want more screenshots and juicy details

iPad sold out – pre-orders more than 500.000

Everyone on the internet knows that Apple will start shipping and selling iPad on the April 3rd, at least to all the pre-order customers. But that might not be the case for late orders. If you try to pre-order an iPad right now you would notice that shipping dates have switched from April 3rd to April 12th. The only thing that comes in mind after that is… the iPad is SOLD OUT.

According to some reports Apple has removed the local pickup option since they clearly cannot keep up with the demand. After initial reports on the first day of pre-orders andestimates of 90.000 iPad solds on the first day, some claim that there are almost half a million of iPads sold to this day. Let’s work that number a bit, if we take the conservative side and say hat all of the iPads sold in the pre-order are the “cheapest” 499$ version Apple cashed in almost 25 million dollars before it started shipping the iPad. Now THAT is huge. We believe that on the first day of sale iPad will sell even better than iPhone ( more than half a million units sold on the first weekend of sales) if the demand keeps this trend.

If you pre-ordered an iPad for local pickup before, wou will get your sample between 9am and 3 pm on the 3rd, after that it is first come first served basis.

The iBlog announces it’s existence

Hello good people of the interwebz, this is our first post. Consider yourself introduced.

Joking aside, we would like to say a few words before we start filling this blog with regular updates. A few technicalities first. The name of the blog is self explanatory and yeah this will be another blog about all things “i”. iPad, iPod, iPood, iPhone you name it, we will write it.

Our main focus, however, will be on the new member of the iFamily – the wonderful iPad. Since the launch of the iPad is only a few days away and only a selected few had the honors of touching the precious thing, we will start off with some general articles about the iPad, applications and Books (iBooks) as well as a whole lot of acessories that will accompany the launch. So stay with us and we promise … well you will see.

First things first, though. We will be getting our iPad around launch day, so stay tuned for an exhausting, but fun review. Soon.
